Holiday seats skip the normal rolling sale. Korail posted the official notice on 13 August 2026, covering travel on 23–27 September. Booking runs 3–11 September and it is split by route, not opened all at once.

Priority booking, split across two days. 3 Sep — Gyeongbu, Gyeongjeon, Donghae, Jungbu Naeryuk, Gyeongbuk, Daegu, Chungbuk, Gyoeoe. 4 Sep — Honam, Jeolla, Jungang, Gangneung, Janghang, Yeongdong, Taebaek, Seohae, Gyeongchun, Mokpo–Boseong.

CONVENTIONAL TRAINS ONLY. ITX-Saemaeul, ITX-Maeum and Mugunghwa — every line, all at once. If you are taking a slower train to a smaller town, this is your morning, four days before the Busan KTX.

The station you leave from decides your day. 8 Sep — KTX from Seoul and Cheongnyangni. 9 Sep — KTX from Yongsan, for Honam and Jeolla. 10 Sep — anything to or from Suseo, which since the merger includes the trains that used to be SRT.

SEOUL → BUSAN IS LAST. Korea's busiest journey gets the final slot. Gyeongbu line KTX from Seoul — Daejeon, Dongdaegu, Gyeongju, Ulsan, Busan. Everyone who wants it is in the same queue on the same morning.
